hand pumping gas. After their father’s death in 2007, Ricky and Steve took over the business. Steve’s wife, Cindi, works there, as do their two children Ryan, Kevin and Kevin’s wife.
It truly is a family business that has been nurtured for decades.
That family atmosphere appeals to customers, some of which have been coming for 40-plus years. The dock opened in the mid-’50’s.
Under the Eastwold family, growth wasn’t planned as much as it grew from demand, said Ricky.
The dive shop was added in 1982 because the lake is so clear that scuba divers can wade in and explore it — including Ricky, who started diving in his 20s.
