Brew some good It’s Time for Tea!

Julia’s House is once again inviting people to brew some good for their local children’s hospice by holding a tea party or organising a cake bake.

Time for Tea kicked off in May with a garden party at Highwood Gardens in Charborough Park and will run until the end of August.

Julia’s House shops all over Dorset are hosting in-store themed tea parties, including plenty of surprises and special guests.

If you can’t make a Julia’s House party, why not get together with friends, family or colleagues and organise one of your own? Go online to download a fundraising pack, including posters and invitations. Everyone who registers to hold a tea party by emailing timefortea@juliashouse.org will be able to claim a free box of Dorset Tea from their nearest Julia’s House shop.

For more details about fundraising and events, visit juliashouse.org/timefortea.

Volunteers Needed at Poole Hospital

Poole hospital has over 250 volunteers from the local area, who make a tremendous difference to the experience of patients.

We have people in a broad range of areas in the hospital and at the present time we are particularly seeking more volunteers to:

• meet patients coming to the hospital for appointments and provide directions or accompany patients to their destination

• help on wards for older patients providing support such as refreshments, checking meal options and errands.

We are particularly keen to have more people that can help during late afternoons and at weekends.

Most volunteers come in to help between 2-3 hours a week. You do not need to have any particular skills, but you do need to be a kind and caring person who is keen to help.

For further information and an application form, visit: www.poole.nhs.uk/working-for-us/ volunteering.aspx or contact Joy Janati, Voluntary Services Lead on 01202 448610.
