The London Chocolate Forum returns with world class eco venue
The LCF 17 moves to the prestigious Crystal Building right in the hub of London’s Docklands with unanimous backing from the chocolate industry
T
he prestigious London Chocolate Forum has announced it has secured the fabulous Crystal building to host this year’s event, which takes place on Oct 6th.
This award-winning building is considered to be the world’s most sustainable venue (fitting with the chocolate industry), and sits at the end of one of London docks with amazing views right into the city over the water.
The state-of-the-art venue was chosen after extensive research with LCF 16 delegates, and the results its reported were very encouraging. Previously, the event has been attended by, Mars, Nestlé, Waitrose, Mondelez, Ferrero, Lindt, Thorntons, Tesco Stores, Green and Blacks, Hotel Chocolat, Valor, Marks and Spencer plc, Ritter Sport and many more leading players in the global chocolate confectionery industry.
Visitors this year can watch the cable car from right outside the front door of the venue.
In total, 95% of London Chocolate Forum delegates said they made useful contacts that they will be following up. The London Chocolate Forum is now considered to be the leading event and conference for the international chocolate industry, with 72% of those surveyed saying it was ‘the best event the in the chocolate industry,’ with 73% returning.
Barry Callebaut, sponsors of the 2016 event along with other key sponsors: Cargill and Kukaxoco, told Kennedy’s that it was one of the only events of its kind that they support.
Bas Smit, senior global and European marketing director, Barry Callebaut, added: “The right people come together, and the right diverse topics are in the agenda.”
Doug Rowe, of Nookie bar in the UK, added: “Once again, I really enjoyed the event. It was informative, on topic and a great opportunity to meet some new contacts in the industry. I have now been to five years (I think, since High Street Kensington), and I think this was one of the best, if not the best.”
