The 2016 winners with some of the HWYE judges

Entering the HWYE competition gives you a chance to showcase both your skills and the quality of your business. In the autumn local winners will be selected to take part in the exciting finals on November 16, 2017, where they’ll be alongside some of the best that the region has to offer.

Each of the finalists will receive a cash prize, a year-long mentoring programme with a partner from Haines Watts and free publicity for their business, so it’s well worth entering.

We want to hear from you if you’ve been running a business for over a year in either Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire or Surrey, and are under 36 years old on July 31, 2017. There is no lower age limit.

Entry is free – just go online at hwye.co.uk and provide some details about your company and why it should win.

Jane Gregory, a Haines Watts’ judge, said: “Each year the calibre of young entrepreneurs at our finals is outstanding.

All kinds of people enter from the whole realm of business sectors. Some have said to us afterwards that they didn’t know they had the confidence to compete until they’d finished their pitch on the day – so the competition is a great opportunity to prove you can do it.”

In addition to the useful exercise of presenting their business, finalists have also said they’ve valued the opportunity to share ideas with fellow competitors at the finals and through the HWYE social media channels generally. The event speakers provide helpful insights about their business experiences as entrepreneurs to the candidates, so it’s a motivational day as well.

The Haines Watts Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition team are searching for talented business owners in the Thames Valley area – is this you or someone you know?
