Accountancy firm Wilkins Kennedy has announced two new partner promotions at its Heathrow office, based in Egham. Jemima Jones has been promoted to tax partner. One of the youngest women in the firm to become a partner, she joined in 2005 as a trainee, passed her accountancy exams in 2008 and tax exams the following year, before being appointed as tax director in 2015. Paul Creasey has been promoted to audit partner. Having joined the firm in 2015 from an international accountancy practice, he has become one of the firm’s specialists in financial reporting regulations and has developed a client portfolio that includes software and technology companies as well as charities and education establishments.
Leading Thames Valley law firm Blandy & Blandy LLP has welcomed its latest new face, with highly experienced senior solicitor Stephen Bucknill joining the firm’s growing Henley- on-Thames office. Bucknill was previously a partner at Henley-based Cooper Solicitors before it was acquired by a larger firm in 2012. He has over 20 years’ experience in advising clients on residential property and conveyancing transactions.
Law firm Blake Morgan has promoted three of its senior lawyers as new partners at its offices in the Thames Valley. The appointments are among nine across the firm and mark a significant milestone in the firm’s recent history, with a total of 20 lawyers joining the partnership over the past financial year. The new partners, based at the firm’s offices in Reading and working across the Thames Valley, are Rebecca North in the banking and finance team, employment law specialist Rajiv Joshi, and Michael Ward in real estate. International legal practice Osborne Clarke has elected a new head for its Thames Valley office in Reading as Robert Wood (pictured) replaces James Massy- Collier. Wood joined Osborne Clarke in 2000, became a corporate partner in 2010 and he will also join the firm’s Partnership Council in his new role as office head. Massy-Collier successfully led the Reading office for the past five years, has been a corporate partner for nearly 30 years and will now act as the firm’s General Counsel advising the partnership on all legal, governance and risk issues.
Following a period of rapid expansion and a series of high-level appointments, Thames Valley law firm Gardner Leader has recruited Lynn Digby as HR manager. In just six years, staff numbers at Gardner Leader have doubled to nearly 120 including 14 partners, and turnover is on course to reach £7 million by the end of the year, which is double what it was in 2011-12.
Law firm Shoosmiths is welcoming a new office head at the Thames Valley office as former head and real-estate partner Andrew Farmery steps down to relocate to Shoosmiths’ London office. From May 1, employment partner Jonathan Naylor took over from Farmery, who had been head of office since September 2012. Farmery’s tenure has seen Shoosmiths’ Thames Valley continue to flourish financially and has been acknowledged by the legal directories as the number one commercial law firm in the region. Farmery’s leadership has also seen the Thames Valley office pioneer Shoosmiths’ agile working, a model which is being rolled out across all Shoosmiths’ offices due to the resounding success of its launch in Reading recently.

West London’s leading law firm IBB Solicitors is pleased to announce the promotion of senior solicitor Gemma Coles to partner in the commercial real estate team. Her promotion will be effective from May 1 2017. Coles joined IBB Solicitors in 2011 as a solicitor in the commercial real estate team. Over the years, she has gained significant property experience in residential and commercial real estate transactions.
Pitmans Law has announced that Sheilagh Magee and Stacey Jones have been made up to partners. Magee advises on all manner of private client matters from wills to estate administration to powers of attorney. She has been with the firm for nearly 20 years. Jones trained with the firm and qualified in 2011. She advises on a broad range of litigious matters including commercial disputes, shareholder disputes and professional negligence claims. She also deals with all aspects of corporate and individual restructuring, insolvency and refinancing. John Hutchinson, managing partner, said: “Sheilagh and Stacey are huge assets to the firm and I am delighted for them both. These promotions are thoroughly deserved.”
