AWARDS PROPERTY VALLEY

THAMES

Record attendance at UK’s largest regional celebration of the property sector

With property sector growth across the Thames Valley, the office investment market 32% up, regeneration underway in several towns, and modern agile and co-working business environments now a norm in this dynamic successful region, a record ‘sold- out’ attendance was a safe bet for this stellar event staged at Ascot Racecourse

Now established within the property professionals’ calendar, after just four years, the popularity of the Thames Valley Property Awards (TVPA) was “a testament to the vibrancy of the local property sector – and the wealth of professional talent among the agents, developers, planners, consultants, property lawyers and dealmakers who work in the sector and operate in this region,” said David Murray, publisher of The Business Magazine as he launched the gala awards evening.

While that record attendance of 570 might not have been unpredictable, the guests were treated to 15 surprise revelations as the award-winners were announced and received their deserved recognition – one of those being a new award category ‘Young Property Professional of the Year’.

Murray also invited an overall round of applause to thank the judges, the event management team including CoStar, and sponsors – Barton Willmore, Haslams, Hicks Baker, Jansons Property, Jelf, Kempton Carr Croft, McKay Securities, Morgan Lovell, NatWest, Peter Brett Associates, Pitmans Law, RARE, Regus, Romans Group, SEGRO, and Vail Williams – “without whose practical assistance and support the TVPA would not be such a strong and popular competition year after year.”

John Inverdale, one of television’s best-known faces and radio’s best-loved voices, particularly when it comes to big sporting events, ensured the award proceedings went smoothly with sophisticated style, and later he revealed some of his career experiences with knowledgeable wit and charm.

As is traditional at the TVPA, one winner was announced at the start of the evening – the TVPA’s charity partner, the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, currently building Berkshire’s first purpose-designed children’s hospice near Maidenhead.

Generous donations from the gathered property professionals were another predictable safe bet, particularly with a fundraising prize incentive of a champagne magnum. Ascot Racecourse also raffled full hospitality for two at a major race-meeting. Like all the award-winners, our charity ‘winner’ went home smiling too – with £7,260.
