The Twin Lakes Area boasts a variety of sports leagues and activities for both area youth and adults. A number of leagues for children are supervised by the L.C. Sammons Youth Center in Cooper Park at 1101 Spring St. For more information on a variety of youth center-sponsored activities, call 425-7275. Athletic leagues for area youth include:
Youth Softball
The Twin Lakes Youth Softball league is open to girls 4-18 with registration beginning in early February. The registration fee will vary from year to year. For more information, call the youth center.
Youth Baseball
Mountain Home Youth Baseball and Babe Ruth leagues register in early February at the youth center. Little League baseball is for players 5-12 with birthday cutoffs as follows: » T-Ball — May 1, 2011-April 30, 20120 » Rookie — May 1, 2008-April 30, 2010 » Minor — May 1, 2006-April 30, 2008 » Major — May 1, 2004-April 30, 2006 The registration fee is announced each year. American Legion
Registration and tryouts for the Mountain Home American Legion Baseball Program are in early May at Cooper Park. American Legion Baseball is open to boys ages 15-19. All players will need to bring their own equipment, and players who have not played in the Mountain Home Legion Program before need to bring their official birth certificates.
The program fields two squads. One squad, consisting of 16- to 19-year-olds, competes at the Senior American Legion level. The other squad, comprised of boys 15 to 17, competes at the Junior American Legion level. Ozark Football Association
The Ozark Football Association is
open to youth in third through sixth grade for football, and kindergarten through seventh grade for cheerleading. Registration periods are held in the spring. For registration fees and more information about the organization, visit its website:
