By Tom CASHMAN Hi, if you ever get that feeling,

like we all do, that you just want to push the speed limit but don’t want to spend the rest of your life behind bars, car impounded, points off your licence or no license at all and major fines, then get yourself out to CALABOGIE MOTOR SPORTS PARK, it’s one experience to knock off your bucket list. I met with Jane Berlin who

runs the place and she does a great job of it too, Jane introduced me to their promotions manager Greg van Dalen. Greg gave my brother Dave (my camera guy) and I the tour of the place. We saw the suites, bunk house, the store, lounges with a track view, and they also have a corporate room for large groups. After that we were off to the

class room where everyone gets the rules to follow on the track. Once the class is over there are

some strong animals waiting outside for you: Mustangs, Nissan GTR, & a Lamborghini, beautiful fast cars, just waiting to be tamed by you. The Mustangs have 350 hp at the

wheel, they have a five point harness to keep you in the seat & it does. These cars are very fast, suspension and engines are specifically tuned for the track by the Calabogie Motor Sport mechanics (excellent job). Then the ride. First you get

strapped in, then an instructor will take you through the course. It is amazing with hills, dips, hairpin turns & two long straight aways where you can let the cars (Mustang in our case) loose. Let me tell you that 350hp will put you back in the seat. I suggest you go for the thrill of

the speed and that amazing track, you wont be disappointed and it will keep you away from those flashing lights and out of jail too. Check out more info on their website: www. calabogiemotorsports.com Many thanks to my curly-haired

friend Brian (the Bounder Man) and his mag, for an amazing experience. (My brother & I are still

smiling). www.bounder.ca BOUNDER MAGAZINE 45
