ROOTS series have dealt with some of the key artists who helped make the Ottawa Val- ley a hotbed in Canada’s world of country music. The success that these artists enjoyed at the local and national level was in large part due to the fact that the Ottawa Valley had created its own music industry infra- structure...with support from radio stations, country club venues, recording studios, record labels, booking agencies, a national country music newspaper based out of Ottawa, and people behind these facilities who had a pas- sion to promote the music.

Ted Daigle, who was also a gifted record- ing artist and entertainer with several popu- lar albums and chart hits to his credit, was formally recognized for his pioneering role in Canadian country music and radio with induc- tion into the Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall Of Fame (1988), and The Canadian Country Music Hall Of Fame (1993). CKBY- FM was itself duly recognized with induction into the OVCMHF in 2010.
