THE AMISH STORE


to Middleville and Hopetown, is a classic ride and bound to please these denizens of the back roads. So away we went to wander through this story book farmland, to embrace spring and inhale the fresh air of freedom.


Hopetown is a junction that we decided led to Balderson and their Cheese Factory, so continuing down


this great “Ribbon of Highway” we toured through Clydesville to Lanark and Balderson. The Balderson Village Cheese Shop (country store since 1881) turned out to be not only a great place to visit (see also THE AMISH STORE) but also a perfect location (with lots of parking) to recommend as a second stop on this tour.

The ride into Perth is invariably pleasing and Perth itself (home of THE SUNFLOWER BAKE SHOP) is a place you could recommend to any adventurer looking for something unique and special. Unfortunately, today we could only afford to make a small detour through the community before heading down the main street
