SEPTEMBER 1, 8, 15, 22, 29....Wednesday Night Guided Meditation w/ Paul Jaffe The Four Foundations of Mindful- ness. This meditation program will offer you deep insight into the types and uses of meditation. Each Wednesday night you will have the opportunity to learn the essential points of meditation. Through the cultivation of deeper awareness and energetic stability, you will systematically release unhealthy patterns, unleash your creative powers, and unfold your true gifts. We will begin by learning and practice of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, a systematic approach laid out by the Buddha to take you from awareness of breath to deep awakening and freedom. This program is suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators. Those who have had trouble meditating in the past are definitely welcome. The course will be responsive to the needs and interests of the participants and you will have ample time to ask questions, discuss your experiences and get guidance. You can look for- ward to increased calm, insight and self-discovery. Paul Jaffe studied with numerous masters of Zen, Tibetan Buddhism and Insight meditation traditions. He has been practicing meditation since1972 and teaching meditation since 1980. Besides teaching meditation in Japan where he lived for 25 years, and the U.S. where he now lives, Paul has taught med- itation in Russia, Spain, Mexico and Canada. His warm and inclusive teaching style is the fruit of the many life paths he has walked, ranging from peace protestor, teacher of immi- grants, working in the financial industry, intercultural trainer, university professor, to climate activist, life coach, healer, husband and father. He is currently interested in the integra- tions of the masculine and feminine (archetypally speaking) aspects of the spiritual life. Paul holds an M.A. in Asian Studies from the University of California and did doctoral course work in Buddhist Studies at UCLA.
