Background Technogym was established in 1983. Nerio Alessandri is founder and president of the company. Together with his brother Pierluigi he owns 60 per cent of the company. Arle, a London-based private equity fi rm, owns a minority participation of 40 per cent.

Technogym equipment is easy for users to set up by themselves, and a series of complimentary exercise programmes is available for spa guests to use whether they are new to wellness, or to enhance their usual workout.
USPs Every product developed by Technogym originates from in-depth scientifi c research in the fi elds of health and wellness. Dedicated Technogym staff, medical professionals, researchers and academics investigate and create solutions to help people live healthier lives through exercise. A team of engineers, technicians and designers carry out prototyp- ing and product testing. New products are given prolonged wear and tear tests and discussed in focus groups to ensure ease of use, comfort and end-user satisfaction. Once the tests are completed, the products are ready for manufacturing. The results help defi ne new concepts and products which are then developed and engineered by the Technogym Research & Development Centre.
