THE COLORFUL WORLD OFART FESTIVALS India

Welcoming the opportunity to be in direct contact with everyone from first time buyers to sage collectors, working artists found these intimate and friendly rendezvous a profitable alternative, or addition to, finding a gallery to represent them. New and expanded venues were sought by chambers of commerce, rotary clubs and private art advocates, and nurtured into art–filled landmarks. These regional art marketplaces were now infused with advertising dollars; they developed committees and selection standards. Interest and participation in fair and festival life grew and thrived. Show participants took on wanderlust, routing financial potential with stops around the country. These events weren’t just for local painters anymore.

Weekend pop-up artisan villages became and remain popular community celebrations where people do more than look at two-dimensional paintings or buy beaded ankle bracelets. Larger sculptural installations are now attractive additions to art festivals and set the stage for amazing three-dimensional components for

potential purchasing consideration. Sculpture attained new heights.

As the general population became more familiar with public art programs integrated into their city ordinances and daily lives, larger-than- life sculpture sightings became familiar and appreciated. Appeal grew and flourished, often with the additional mixtures of multi-media works, murals and other creative serendipities.

When the economy was a flourish with disposable income, larger and grander indoor/ outdoor private places became the standard, and with them the need to fill these spaces. Increased corporate financial interests and sentiment took advantage of the inclusion of new décor as visual statements and signs of success. Sculpture, now a sophisticated and attainable option, became a 360-degree visual must-have. Contemporary selections for some, or traditional for others, sculpture has become a dynamic vibe for investment, audience attraction, and attentiveness.
