REMODELORS COUNCIL NEWS We're No. 1 Because of You! T

he Remodelors Council had another great luncheon at our new venue, Lakeside

Country Club. If you have not joined us yet please make an effort to do so. Lakeside is proving to be a step in the right direction. With its beauti- ful scenery and flowing entrance, the venue provides a wonderful arena for our luncheon and tabletop sponsors to present their products, while at the same time providing ample space for the members to mingle and network.

Along with the new digs, we have also been fortunate to have an array of quality speakers, thanks to Kathy Johnson's dedication to her board position. Please put the Remodelors Council Luncheon, which is held the second Tuesday of every month at 11:30, on your calendar and then follow through. You will be doing yourself and your company a great service.

This month we will be discussing "Quality Defects." You'll hear from some of the best inspectors in our market what mistakes in quality control they see most often and how you can avoid them. I'm sure you can agree, this is a topic of importance to us all. Event will feature Trent Elliott, Burgess Construction Consultants Inc. and Clayton Morris, DPIS Engineering. Please join us on Thursday, September 13 to learn how to save yourself time, money and frustration!

Come and find out why the Houston RMC is the No. 1 council in the country! One of the biggest reasons is YOU—our members.

As professionals in the industry, our members strive to build and promote industry leaders from within the organization. Yes believe it or not, the wonderful group of people who make up the council strive to help one another succeed. We are of the mind that the better educated and professional you are, the better it is for the industry as a whole.

5th Annual Charity Garage Sale

The RMC’s 5th Annual Garage Sale is soon upon us, and we can still use your donations of products and services! Gonzalo Garcia, secretary and garage sale chairman, and his band of merry men and women have been working diligently to orchestrate this event, scheduled for September 15 and 16 at Reliant Center, in conjunction with the Texas Home & Garden Show.

All the proceeds from the garage sale go directly to the RMC Charity Fund, which we use towards annual charity remodeling projects at non-profit organizations throughout Houston. Get rid of that old inventory in your warehouse or show- room, and help a great cause at the same time!

Pick-up, drop-off and warehouse are now available at Bison, A Stock Supply Company, located at 1615 Dart St. To make a donation, please contact Barb Mueller at (281) 546-1089 or bmueller@designsanewhouston.com. To sched- ule pick up or drop off, contact Charles Wurz at (713) 470-6517 or charles.wurz@stocksupply.com.
