CORKS FOR A CAUSE JOINS ASSOCIATE COUNCIL’S BBQ COOK-OFF
HomeAid Houston is adding a whole new dimension in flavors to the annual GHBA Associate Council BBQ Cook-off. A little oaky, a little fruity, a little buttery, a little sweet, a little dry—you name it and HomeAid has it. This is the debut of Corks for a Cause, a fundraising event with a lot of spirit! Visit HomeAid’s Corks for a Cause booth at the Associates Council BBQ Cook-off on Friday, November 9 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. where you can donate $20 to the HomeAid Care project benefitting the U.S. Veterans Initiative lobby remodel. Participants pay $20 for each ‘pull’ from a bowl of numbered corks. The numbered corks are matched to a pre-numbered bottle of wine that will be displayed ‘incognito’ in the Corks for a Cause booth. The fun begins when the participant unwraps their pulled bottle and learns the value of the wine. All bottles will have a minimum value of $20. How often do you get to donate money for a worthy cause and receive a great bottle of wine equal to or greater than the value of your donation?
In addition to the Wine Pull, get a taste of a little competition as you play the dice game Left * Center * Right—every half hour. There is a $10 donation to play and “valuable” prizes are awarded to the winner of each game.
The GHBA Associate Council’s BBQ Cook-off is being held at BMC Building Materials at 16002 Tomball Pkwy.
