Certainteed Insulation Honored as Supplier of the Year by Insulate America


For the second consecutive year, Insulate America Inc., an as- sociation of independent insulation contractors, has honored certainteed Corporation with its Supplier of the Year Award for 2011. The award was given in recognition of Certainteed’s outstanding and ongoing support of the organization.

Houston Based Gulf & Basco Acquired by Kodiak Building Partners


Houston based Gulf & Basco Corp., a leading supplier of name brand appliances, cabinets, countertops and windows for over 75 years, has been acquired by Denver based Kodiak Building Partners. Kodiak Building Partners was formed to invest in building products companies that serve new residential, repair and remodeling, and commercial construction markets across the U.S. Kodiak has acquired all assets of the company, and Gulf & Basco’s team of 80 people will remain with Stuart Feldman continuing as the CEO, and the management team remaining in place. "We’ve been a successful family business for over 75 years. We have the desire to grow beyond our current distribution footprint and are delighted to join forces with Kodiak to achieve that goal," explained Feldman.


Recognizing that the building industry is very local in nature, Kodiak and its investor partners work with and support man- agement, on a market by market basis, to continue building and growing businesses in the $10 million to $100 million sales range. Kodiak Chairman and CEO, Paul Hylbert, said, “We are very excited about having Gulf & Basco join our Kodiak team.
