New president and board and council members take their seats


Mark Nodder, president, Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and group managing director, The Wright Group


Mark Nodder is group managing director for The Wrights Group of companies, which includes Wrightbus Ltd, Wright Customcare Ltd, Wright Composites Ltd and Metallix Ltd subsidiaries.


Mark has held this position since December 2006, prior to which he was progressively responsible for the Customcare aftersales subsidiary, UK and International Business Development.


Mark is a lawyer by training and worked initially for the National Audit Office before moving to Saudi Arabia to take up a position with the Ministry of Defense and Aviation. Mark relocated to Northern Ireland in 1986 and worked for Bombardier and Survitec prior to joining Wrightbus in 1998.


Outside Wrightbus, Mark is also a member of the Economic Advisory Group to the Northern Ireland economy minister.


Stephen McCully, managing director, Power NI


Stephen has been managing director of Power NI (formally NIE Energy) for the past 10 years. Power NI is Northern Irelandʼs largest electricity supplier serving 670,000 homes and 35,000 businesses.


Stephen has worked within the electricity industry since 1986, and joined initially as an engineer and then transitioned into a business planning role during the privatisation process in 1993. Since then Stephen has held a variety of senior management roles within NIE and Viridian.


Stephen is a Chartered Engineer and an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, Boston. He originally hails from Mid‑Ulster (just outside Moneymore), however currently lives in Ballinderry Upper.


Professor Heather Farley, head of Department of Management & Leadership in the Ulster Business School, University of Ulster


Heather manages one of six Departments in the Ulster Business School and is responsible for a range of pre‑ and post‑experience courses including Human Resource Management (with CIPD accreditation), the MBA and MBS programmes, Business Improvement and Management and Corporate Governance (with ICSA accreditation), winner of the gradireland Postgraduate Course of the Year 2012. She was awarded a Distinguished Teaching Fellowship by the University in 2007 and was appointed professor of Management Education in 2011. Externally, Heather is a Governor of South East Regional College and is also involved with the Association of Business Schools.


Kevin Houston OBE, Managing Director, Houston Solutions


Kevin is a highly experienced international managing director with a proven track record of establishing and growing successful businesses in the Contact Centre and BPO sectors over the past 18 years. His early career includes over 20 years with Bank of Ireland where he held a number of senior positions in Retail and Corporate Banking in both Northern Ireland and London.


He is the founder and managing director of Houston Solutions, a niche business consultancy which assists private and public organisations develop strategies for sustainable growth. Kevin was awarded the OBE in the 2010 New Year Honours List for Services to Business.


Patrick Leggett, group sales director, Xperience


Patrick joined Xperience in 1987 and holds the position of group sales director. He is responsible for the successful development and execution of the companyʼs sales and marketing strategy and the day to day management of the sales and marketing teams.


Patrick was a key figure in both the management buy‑out of Xperience and in a number of key strategic company acquisitions in recent years which involved the integration into the Xperience Group of software company, ABT three years ago, the Cloud specialists TCS Solutions in 2011 and recently DMC software, an award winning, Sage software and CRM provider, based in Peterborough. As chairman of the Xperience board he has plays a leading role in the companyʼs three year plan for growth in relation to staffing, customer base and turnover. As part of that strategic plan, Xperience aim to continually reinforce their presence in Northern Ireland, GB and the Republic of Ireland in the months and years ahead.
