s an exporter you have already developed a successful product and now all you have to do is deliver your goods on time and ensure that you receive your payment quickly. This can be a simple process when you know how but understanding what document is required for each shipment to each destination can be overwhelming.

What should be a very simple process can be very time demanding and costly if not completed accurately; the accurate completion and authentication of export documentation is vital.

Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce provides professional advice and certification services to help make the whole process of exporting as straightforward as possible, supporting your business at every stage of the exporting journey.

There are a host of certification services available which can support you through this journey and enable your business to save valuable time, money and resources, as well as increase productivity.

A range of different documents are required when exporting your goods. These include:

EC Certificate of Origin

A certificate needed to meet overseas customs requirements to qualify for (normally) zero import duty as part of International Trade agreements. Sometimes also needed to comply with banking requirements where trade is conducted under Letters of Credit.

Arab‑British Certificate of Origin Similar to the EC certificate but used for exports to the Arab League States.

Egyptian Certificate of Origin Similar to the EC certificate but used for exports to Egypt.

EUR 1

A Customs Movement Certificate issued in the country of export to enable claims for preferential import duty levels on goods being exported to EC preferential partner countries.

A.TR A Customs Movement Certificate for goods in www.businessfirstonline.co.uk

EC free circulation (i.e. duty paid) being exported to Turkey. A.TR allows import into Turkey without payment of customs duty.

ATA Carnet

An international Customs document which allows the temporary importation of commercial samples, professional equipment or goods going to either a trade fair or exhibition to countries which are part of the ATA Carnet system. Without an ATA Carnet it would be necessary to go through each countryʼs Customs procedures for the temporary admission of goods and allows a single document to be used.
