INSECTICIDES
Pyrethrum 5EC 250ml/1L Nemasys Chafer Grub Killer
Apply Nemasys Chafer Grub Killer to moist lawns from August to early October. This is when the young grub larvae are active and the temperature is above 12ºC (54ºF). The nematodes (Heterorhabditis megidis) seek out the chafer grubs and attack the pest by entering natural body openings. Once inside, they release bacteria that stops the pest from feeding, quickly killing
the pest. They do not stop there. The nematodes reproduce inside the dead pest and release a new generation of hungry infective nematodes, which disperse and search for further prey. Nemasys Chafer Grub Killer must be used within 3-4 weeks of being received.
Do not apply Nemasys Chafer Grub killer too late, since the grubs start to move down deeper in the soil and become inactive until the following spring. However, as this move downwards is temperature dependent, in some years it may still be alright to apply later.
As long as the grubs are near the surface and the soil temperature is above 12ºC (54ºF) nematodes can still be applied.
Pack Sizes: 100m2 or 500m2 Nemasys Leatherjacket Killer
Apply when the young leatherjackets are active in the soil, this is typically late August through to the end of October. When you start to see the adult daddy-long-legs (towards the end of August) you will know that in a few days they will be laying eggs. These will hatch quickly, therefore, aim to apply about a week to two weeks after you see the adults. The nematodes (Steinernema feltiae), seek out the leatherjackets and attack the pest by entering natural body openings. Once inside, they release bacteria that stops the pest from feeding, quickly killing the pest. They do not stop there. The nematodes reproduce inside the dead pest and release a new generation of hungry infective nematodes, which disperse and search for further prey.
Apply to moist turf when the soil temperature is above 12ºC (54ºF) and water them in well. The nematode needs to be washed well in so that they reach the roots where the leatherjackets will be. Make sure the turf does not dry out after applying nematodes.
Pack Sizes: 100m2 or 500m2 53 SUPPLY AND APPLY SERVICE

Pyrethrum 5EC is an emulsifiable concentrate prepared from pyrethrum - nature’s own rapid- acting insecticide. Pyrethrum 5EC controls aphids, blackfly, greenfly, caterpillars and white fly on organic flowers, fruit, and vegetables. For use outdoors, in greenhouses and on pot plants throughout the season.
Through the efforts of the Friends of Pyrethrum organisation a formulation using this natural insecticide is now registered and is suitable for use in organic and non-organic farming, it kills insect pests quickly without leaving any toxic residuals. Approval by PSD and the Soil Association's approval of Pyrethrins now means that Pyrethrum 5EC is available for immediate control of aphids, blackfly, greenfly, whitefly, thrips, springtails, caterpillars, moths, red spider mite, beetles and many other pest insects.
Pyrethrum 5EC has a wide range of contact action (non-systemic) against the majority of insect pests. Because of its very short persistence and low toxicity, crops can be harvested 24 hours after application.
Application Rate: Organic media grown plants 2.4l per hectare.
Soil grown plants 1.1l per hectare.
Nemaclear
Nemaclear is a novel blend of surfactants and biocides, developed to reduce stress on root systems and encourage plant health by effectively controlling plant parasitic nematode populations.
• Controls nematode population • Unique dual mode of action • Low risk to nematode resistance
• Readily miscible with water and nutrients
• No phytotoxicity • Readily biodegradable • Interrupts the nematode life cycle • Effective on a wide range of nematode species
Application Rate: Dilute 1 part of Nemaclear per 100 parts of water. Pack Coverage: 200 litres of the diluted solution treats 5,000m2
