Hanging art of a different kind - our selection of the latest chandeliers and decorative pendants.

Mr Cooper Coco Flip

Inspired by the old tin can telephone or ‘lovers telephone’, this spun copper pendant light pays tribute to a time gone by. In 1664 Robert Hooke experi- mented with sound transmission through a distended wire. Mr. Cooper celebrates this era of invention and observations. The 250mm-diameter shades are de- signed to be hung in a cluster, cascading from a single ceiling plate and hooking to various points using copper crimps. The swage lines reference the ridges of a tin can as well as adding rigidity and detail to the form. www.cocoflip.com.au

Tip Tapio Anttila

Winner of the Chicago Athenaeum’s Good Design Award, Tip pendant light combines the latest in LED technology. Its thin acrylic sheet, 50mm thick in the middle and tapering towards the edges, disperses light beautifully and also reflects it upwards. The tip in the mid- dle of the sheet recalls a drop of liquid hitting a surface just before it starts to spread out. Tip’s diameter is 600mm. www.tapioanttila.com

Designed by Naomi Paul, the Omi pendant collection - Glück, Hanna and Sonne are a series of handcrafted minimal flat pack pendants that evolved from the desire to create lighting that is timeless, playful and quietly opulent. They are designed to be used in any interior setting to create a soft, atmos- pheric ambience and to also act as a modern sculptural focal point in a space, whether lit or not.

The pendants are constructed by hand using traditional crochet techniques, made with mercerized cotton sourced from the surplus of the fashion industry. www.naomipaul.co.uk
