Top Class at Devon Breed Show

Both large and small breeders compete on equal footing in the show ring and this year Mo Swanson of Rolling Stone Farm (Pennsylva- nia) claimed the top honors when EM Rheporter (Royal Prince x EM Whispre), a six-year-old Hanoverian mare, earned the Grand Champion title. EM Rheporter also won the Mare Championship and the Mature Horse Championship. Her handler Quinnten Alston won the Best Han- dler award.

Also on Tuesday, Beaucoup D’Amis (Bu- gatti Hilltop x Carousel), owned by Trish DeRosa of Frederick, placed sev- enth in the Fillies of 2011 Class, quite an accom- plishment for the start of a show career. She placed fi fth in the USDF/ GAIG Foal Champion- ship. T e fi lly also placed third in T ursday’s IBC ISR-Oldenburg Two and Under class.

North East placed ninth with LJS Meringue. Ribery 20 also earned a 74.1% to place third in the USEF Materiale Four- and Five-Year-Old Stallions and Geldings class on Wednesday. Hilltop Farm’s Ripley HTF placed fourth in that same class on Wednesday. On the sec- ond day of the breed show, Hilltop Farm’s Balissa HTF (Bugatti Hill- top x Contesse) placed tenth in the Four-Year- Old and Older Maiden and Yeld Mares class. T e mare also placed third in the USEF Materiale Four- and Five-Year-Old Mares class on Wednesday and then on T ursday, Christo- pher Hickey rode the mare to place second in the USEF Young Horse Test for Four-Year- Olds. On Friday, she placed fi fth in the Young Horse class.
