For beginning to intermediate watercolorists. Experience the process of watercolors in a relaxed atmosphere. Practice different techniques including glazing, wet into wet, direct methods, and washes. Subject matter consists of plants, animals, landscapes, and architecture. Discover ways to create textures using scraping tools, collage, and resists. Gain vocabulary and skills necessary for color mixing. Class consists of demonstrations, critiques, and classroom painting sessions. 8 wks

This class, through demonstrations and experimentation, focuses on specific techniques to attain different light affects. Exercises include color choices, mixing powerful color combinations, composition and light passages. Group demonstrations, critiques, and individual guidance are included along with classroom painting sessions. 8 wks

All skill levels in pastel. Incorporates drawing and painting simultaneously. Explore techniques and gain drawing skills. Includes cross-hatching, broken color, blending and feathering. Landscapes, animals, and botanical subject matter are emphasized. Different papers or grounds are explored to determine which is best for your style of painting. 8 wks

In this series of open-forum workshops, we address topics of current interest and / or concern to individuals 55 and older, their caregivers and families. Topics may include Medicare, Social Security, caregiver resources, senior resources and programs, saving money on prescription drugs, and more. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and discuss real-life situations. Specialists in the field attend to share their expertise, provide resources and address possible solutions.
