Average annual beginning salary $27,000- $36,000 Instruction covers drafting fundamentals and computer fundamentals. Equipment used includes networked CAD workstations and plotters. Includes classroom instruction and lectures for AutoCAD Architecture 2009, Revit® Architecture 2009 3D modeling, and Autodesk Inventor® Professional 2009 3D modeling software. Additional available software on the workstations that can be utilized are AutoCAD® MEP 2009, AutoCAD Architecture 2009, Autodesk® Design Review 2009, Autodesk® VIZ 2009, AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2009, and manual drafting tools. The software used is the industry standard for all 2-D CAD applications. Currently, Revit® Architecture is growing in popularity as the Architectural software to be used. Each class period is divided into lecture and lab. Lab time consists of hands-on training with each student working independently. Beginning This course provides entry-level, 2-D computer aided drafting (CAD) fundamentals. All basic draw and modify commands, formatting, drawing setup, calculations, and CAD settings are covered for use in various engineering disciplines. Basic drafting standards and principles are taught throughout the course. Basic computer skills required. Intermediate / Advanced Continuing instruction on CAD fundamentals with an emphasis on a specific engineering discipline; mechanical, architectural, and more. Industry standards and applications are included.
