As the first spectators arrive, the event crew bring on court furniture including, sponsors signs, the umpire’s chair, line judges’ chairs and players’ seating.

David brushes the court with a large dew brush, dispersing the dew and cleaning off any surface debris.

Ball girls and line judges arrive on court, as an excited crowd enjoys the pre-match entertainment.

Rick begins to mow the court, starting on the centre line mowing down the line of play, using a board for turning.
Rick completes mowing and Eddie inspects the court. He arranges for the blowers to be switch on to help dry the lines.

The two teams arrive on court for the formal presentations of the players and the playing of the national anthems.

Once one half of the court has been mown it allows Ben and David to start the line marking, beginning with the tram lines. Ben takes extra care over the marking, walking very slowly and double marking each line.

With the line marking now finished, Neil Stubley sets up the net posts and rigs up the net. The tournament referee gives the court a final inspection whilst last minute rehearsals for the pre- tournament entertainment continue.
