◗ Oceania Cruises is expanding its fleet next year with the addition of the 684-passenger Ocean Princess. The vessel has been acquired from Princess Cruises by Oceania parent Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. It will undergo a $40 million refurbishment and change its name to Sirena before sailing in its new livery.
◗ New Suite Class restaurant Luminae opens its doors across all Celebrity Cruises’ ships (excluding Xpedition in the Galapagos) in April. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and allows passengers to dine when they like at no extra cost.
◗ Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has relaxed photographic ID rules on round-UK voyages. As well as a passport or driving licence, passengers can now use a council- issued bus pass or travel card, a firearms licence or EU ID card. The new rules exclude cruises visiting the Republic of Ireland.
◗ Canadian company Cuba Cruise has seen an increase in enquiries after the historic US/Cuba agreement to re-establish relations after more than 50 years. The news has prompted people to try to visit now before the Americans can go freely. The line offers voyages around Cuba on a ship chartered from Louis Cruises.

DEMAND PROMPTS EARLY SCHEDULES Crystal and Azamara release
2017 programmes early Crystal Cruises has put its full 2017 sailing schedule on sale two years in advance as demand for its cruises continues to outstrip supply. The programme features a
number of firsts for the line. These include a debut call at Doha, Qatar, as part of a 17-day November 22 cruise from Dubai to Port Louis in Mauritius on Crystal Symphony that also visits Abu Dhabi, Madagascar and Mahé in the Seychelles. In all, Crystal’s two ships are
slated to make maiden calls in 32 ports including Calvi in Corsica, Maroantsetra in Madagascar and Vanuatu in the South Pacific. The line will be offering 150 overnight stays in top-rated ports. Crystal Serenity will be sailing a 94-night voyage around South America and there is a new South Africa cruise round-trip from Cape Town with safaris among the planned excursions. Azamara Club Cruises has also
released its 2017 programme, with highlights including a voyage between Sydney and Singapore
and a 20-night round-trip from Mumbai, sailing around the Indian Ocean. In February 2017, Azamara Quest visits the Mexican Sea of Cortez, where passengers can take a train through the Copper Canyon and swim with sea lions. A 15-night cruise from Sydney
to Auckland in New Zealand on Azamara Journey departs February 19 and calls at Dunedin, Akaroa, Napier and Tauranga.
