MSC adds four Dubai sailings to next winter’s schedule Viking Cruises plans to start sailing on Mississippi in 2017

MSC Cruises is increasing its capacity out of Dubai for its 2015-16 winter programme. The line will offer 16 week-long
round-trip cruises from Dubai on MSC Musica next winter – four more than operated this winter season by MSC Orchestra. The Gulf cruises will call at Abu Dhabi and Khor Fakkan in the UAE, and, in Oman, Muscat and Khasab, the latter on the Musandam Peninsula. The sailings end with an
overnight stay in Dubai. Giles Hawke, MSC’s executive
MSC Musica
director for the UK and Ireland, said: “Our Dubai, UAE and Oman programme has proved incredibly popular with UK guests in search of guaranteed good weather. “We were the first mainstream cruise line to show commitment
to Dubai and are proud to have played a part in building the industry there. The new port facilities are an indication of Dubai’s intentions to grow the business.”
Fly-cruise prices for next winter lead in at £749, including Emirates flights from London, Manchester or Glasgow, and transfers. The price is based on a December 12 departure. Before arriving in Dubai, MSC
Musica will operate a 20-night Grand Voyage, departing Venice on November 22. The itinerary will visit Athens, Crete, Rhodes, Egypt, Jordan, Oman and the UAE.

Viking Cruises is to start operating on the Mississippi River in 2017.
The company, which sails primarily in Europe, will operate two vessels, carrying up to 300 passengers, from New Orleans. The cruises will stop in St James, East Baton Rouge and West Feliciana before sailing upriver to either Memphis, in Tennessee, or St Louis or St Paul, in Minnesota, depending on the season. More details on itineraries, ship design and an official launch date will be confirmed later in the year.
