lia UK & Ireland is launching two exciting initiatives to
encourage more agents to start selling cruise. The cruise association has partnered with Travel Weekly on the two schemes that are open to agencies keen to push their cruise business further with the help of Clia. “With so many new ships
launching this year and with more ships on order, it is extremely important
to the cruise industry that we bring more people into the market,” said Andy Harmer, director of Clia. “We need to get more people cruising and a big part of
that will be through getting more agents to realise the earning potential in cruise and to start selling more cruise holidays. “These two initiatives will
help to get more agents thinking about cruise.” The first scheme is Take the Clia Cruise Challenge and that is currently open to Advantage agents. The second is an opportunity for agents to win the new Clia New-to-Cruise Award at this year’s Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards.

Clia is looking to reward an agent who has taken the leap into selling cruise holidays. The association is working with
Travel Weekly on a new award to be presented at this year’s Agent Achievement Awards, to be held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London on July 7. The Clia New-to-Cruise award is open to any agency that began selling cruise over the past 12 months. Entries will be assessed by a panel of judges, who will create a shortlist of nominees ahead of the awards ceremony. Andy Harmer, director of Clia UK & Ireland, said it was
