Civil Aviation Authority to promote Pack Peace of Mind Atol campaign
The Civil Aviation Authority will launch a consumer advertising campaign in January to promote awareness of Atol protection. The campaign will again promote the slogan Pack Peace of Mind and will feature TV, radio and national newspaper advertising, as well as online and social media. Details have yet to be finalised, but it will be the first time the
campaign has featured on TV, with adverts due to appear on satellite and digital TV channels. They will urge families to look beyond the price of a holiday and
make sure their bookings are Atol-protected. The campaign is due to run from New Year’s Day throughout the peak booking period and into March.
Swaffield elected to Abta board
Monarch Group chief executive Andrew Swaffield has been elected unopposed to the Abta board of directors representing principals with an annual turnover of more than £50 million. His appointment to the board is with immediate
effect and follows the board position vacated by Monarch’s former chairman, Hugh Morgan, who stepped down at the operator last month. Abta chairman Noel Josephides said: “We are
delighted to welcome Andrew to the Abta board of directors where his wealth of experience will prove invaluable to the association and our members.”

Ex-Cunard president Shanks joins Imagine Cruising Former Cunard president Peter Shanks has joined agency Imagine Cruising. Shanks has taken up the role of development director, supporting managing director Robin Deller. He previously worked at Carnival UK for 12 years in a number of senior roles including chief commercial officer.
