New speaker announced for UHS Conference
The third annual conference organised by University Hospitality Seminars Ltd (UHS) to be held on Wednesday 5 November, will now also feature the Chief Executive of Universities UK, Nicola Dandridge
U
niversities UK is the membership organisation and definitive voice for universities in the UK,
providing leadership and support to members to promote a successful and diverse higher education sector. Nicola is responsible for the leadership and management of the organisation, having been appointed by the UK Board in September 2009. Recent campaign issues have included
making the case for international students to be removed from the government's net migration targets and communicating the true cost of a university education. Pat McGrath, Chair of UHS commented: “We are delighted that Nicola is going to
be one of our keynote presenters at the conference and delegates will be able to use that learning to equip themselves for future business challenges.” Nicola reports to the Universities UK
President, Professor Sir Christopher Snowden, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Surrey, and as such is in tune with executive thinking at a strategic level. The business programme for the day
also includes The Rt Hon David Blunket MP, Professor David Russell of The Russell Partnership and Victoria Goddard from Pinsent Masons. More speakers will be announced
shortly and places can now be booked for the one-day conference to be held at
the headquarters of Pinsent Masons in Crown Place, London. The conference is aimed at senior staff from across HE who are responsible for providing business services at their universities. Delegates are likely to be Directors and Assistant Directors of Business Services, Directors of Estates and Facilities, Directors of Finance and senior managers from the private sector who are collaborating with universities. The conference is also supported by
University Business magazine and an opportunity to network with delegates in London on the eve of the conference is now also a feature of the event. The business programme will start at 9.30am and conclude at 3.15pm. UB
