Lanxess to invest in new compounding line in USA
Lanxess is to invest US$15 million in a second compound- ing line for engineering plastics at its site in Gastonia, North Carolina, USA, doubling capacity from 20,000 to 40,000 tonnes/year. Construction is expected to start this year with production scheduled for early 2016.

Songwon of Korea has completed its acquisition of the specialty chemicals business of SeQuent Scientific of India. The deal includes SeQuent’s entire polymer stabilizer business and a production and R&D site in Panoli, Gujarat. In addition, it recently commissioned a 20,000 tonnes/year compound- ing plant in Porto Feliz, Brazil. Westlake completes purchase of Vinnolit
Westlake Chemical has completed its acquisition of Germany-based Vinnolit and its subsidiaries from Advent International, a private equity firm.
