long cycles. The UM model features a 850 × 500 mm worktable with 800-kg load capacity, strokes of 750 × 500 × 450 mm (X, Y, Z) and rapid positioning of 24 m/min. The 40-taper (BBT & HSK optional) tools are changed in 2.5 seconds. Hwa- cheon moldmaking

machine tools feature standard integrated software developed in conjunction with Fanuc CNC for thermal displacement control and compensation. Hwacheon Machinery America Ph: 847-573-0100 Web site: www.hwacheon.com

Compact Machining Center for Smaller Parts Licon LiFLEX II 444 is designed for processing smaller and medium-sized components up to 445 mm in size and is well-suited for heavy machining because of rigid and compact design and the high power/torque avail- able. The integration of a pallet-changer fa- cilitates simultaneous loading/unloading of workpieces. The zero- point clamping system ensures a quick

changeover to other workpieces. Chip removal is optimized through suspended fixtures. Optional equipment includes spindle compensation for Z axis and broken tool detection. Hydromat Inc. Ph: 314-432-4644 Web site: www.hydromat.com

Lights-Out Automation Two new Quaser FMC systems that are configured for untend- ed operations will be exhibited. One shuttle-type FMC features high speed HX-504 horizontal machining center with eight 19.7 × 19.7" (500 × 500-mm) pallets that can handle parts size of up to 31.5" (800 mm) height. The HX-504 is equipped with 240 tools ATC capacity and full fourth-axis capability

with high speed 15,000-rpm spindle and 1000 psi (70-bar) coolant through spindle capability. The second FMC system features versatile MF-400U five-axis machining center with 40-pallet FMC system for machining complicated medical and aerospace parts that require different fixtures and setups. Also being exhibited are the VL-1600ATC vertical turning center from YSP with new Rigid Clamping System (RCS) for ultra-heavy cutting requirements. For oil and gas industry, two lathes with oversized spindle bore for pipe threading and turn- ing needs will be exhibited. YMT

HMCs, VTC, Grinding Machines FH450j horizontal machining center is a compact, high- speed machine featuring a 15,000-rpm direct drive spindle and rapid feed rates of 2362 ipm (60 m/min) that will be paired with Toyoda's Tipros FMS automation solution. The FH630SX-I HMC is a linear guideway machine with 8000- rpm, high-torque 37 kW, 1009 N•m spindle and dual ballscrews on the Y and Z axes. Toyoda is introducing its first vertical turning machine to the US. The VTC1616 offers a

maximum turning diameter of 78.7" (2000 mm), a maximum turning height of 47.2" (1200 mm) and a table load capacity of 30,864 lb (14,000 kg). Combining milling and turning in a single setup, the VTC series has a fully programmable W axis and a hydrostatic table with C-axis indexing. Two grinding machines, the GE4-I and the TG4 will be exhibited. Toyoda Machinery USA Ph: 847-253-0340 Web site: www.toyodausa.com

Complete Machine Lines

Exhibited will be a complete line of machines including the GA-26T cylindrical grinding machine, which is designed to support OD grinding in high-volume, automated produc- tion environments. The new HJ-250E-T horizontal CNC lathe features the Fanuc CNC control. The new LU-S1600 turning center is the latest evolution of four-axis lathes in the
