 Endsleigh was established by the National Union of Students in 1965 to cater for the unique insurance needs of the student population. In the 1980s they created the fi rst ‘Block Halls’ insurance policy, providing students with insurance via their university at a signifi cantly reduced premium. Endsleigh now provide their Block Accommodation Insurance policy to over 260 universities, colleges and private partners,


The Russell Partnership


The Russell Partnership provides strategic consultancy, primarily to leaders of catering, conferencing and accommodation across Commercial and Estates Directorates. Unite Students


In 2013, prompted by their annual HE survey, Unite Students launched their Wellbeing programme. Their intention was to be in tune with student life, to be supportive but not intrusive, inclusive and respectful in meeting the pastoral needs of students. Sheffi eld Hallam University helped to develop the approach. The programme included physical spaces where students could fi nd information about healthy lifestyles


and activities and staff training to provide support to students in crisis, amongst other things. In 2012


Unite established The Unite Foundation, an


independent charitable trust that specialises in transforming the lives of young people from the most disadvantaged backgrounds by enabling access to HE opportunities. The Unite Foundation Scholarship Scheme is delivered in partnership with seven universities. Over


£550,000 is invested in 56 life-changing scholarships to students who might not otherwise have been able to at end university. Unite recognise that every university is diff erent. enables students to pay by scanning machine QR codes using their smartphone. A brand new website allows all Circuit users


to interact with their laundry service online – whether registering for a cashless payment


card, topping up their account, checking that machines are free to use or even reporting a fault in their


launderet e. Circuit’s profi t-share model requires no


upfront investment. It has proven successful at a time when students see an aff ordable, enjoyable launderet e service as preferable to investing in white goods of their own or using high-street launderet es.
