The F1 in Schools Technology Challenge tasks students with using CAD/CAM software to design, analyse, manufacture, test, and race a miniature compressed air-powered F1 car.

While the cars are small, made of balsa wood and raced on a track just 25 metres long, designing, building and testing the vehicles and arranging sponsorship and marketing require the same skills demanded in the motor racing industry. Competitors race against other teams in regional, national and international finals.

F1 in Schools started in the UK in 2000 and now runs in 40 countries worldwide, engaging millions of students. With tremendous support from industry and the endorsement of Formula 1, F1 in Schools is a truly inspiring opportunity for young people.
