apprenticeship

Going to university may not be the right choice for everyone. Apprenticeships offer qualifications and experience that can enable young people to flourish in an engineering career.

The apprentice zone on the IET website is packed with advice on choosing the right apprenticeship, including details of accredited schemes. To gain accreditation, an apprenticeship scheme provider needs to have demonstrated that their training meets certain quality standards and that they are committed to helping apprentices progress and develop. They must also provide apprentices with the skills they need as a basis for professional registration.
