Cities are like humans. No two are identical. Each has a size. Each has a mood. Each has its own skin. There is a physical reality. There is an emotional reality. There is a cultural reality. All of which contribute to its outward character. As people shape cities, cities shape people. It’s with this thinking that VitrA decided to explore a new collection Inspired by six distinct cities and the materials that influence their appearance, their form and ultimately their personality — yet with a twist... all these disparate materials are recreated in porcelain.

The Chemist Warehouse group now employs over 4000 staff members and is Australia's largest pharmacy retailer, with stores located throughout the country. Chemist Warehouse has been successful in providing media opportunities for its stocked brands within its stores. For example it runs an in‐store radio station on which its brands take airtime. It has also established an ‘infomercial’ style brand through TV advertising called ‘Healthy Breaks’ and the commercials were identified as being suitable for display instore.

It could see the possibility of doing something similar using video, and early in 2012 started looking at options. Specifically, Chemist Warehouse wanted to be able to add to store ambience and energy, provide information to customers, increase sales of promoted items, support catalogue events and to sell airtime to stocked brands.

Digital signage was selected to achieve this. Chemist Warehouse wanted the ability to distribute video into store, provide proof of play to brands and to manage the content by their internal marketing team. ONELAN was chosen as it operates on a stable platform (Linux operating system), is cost competitive, and enables either full screen or multizone multimedia layouts with simple content management.
