by car or more than 300 miles by bus, rail, or air. Additional information regarding travel reimbursement is available on the USWCA website, www. uswca.org. We are seeking host clubs for upcoming seasons. If you are interested in hosting a bonspiel, contact me at flingtime@comcast.net. n

same event that the team they are coaching is registering for. Tis enables everyone on the team to see who else (on their team) has registered. Te team rosters are built manually aſter registration notifications come in and the event with the closest deadline gets priority attention. Computer timing at events

Tis year, the USCA budgeting group approved the purchase of laptops

and monitors for host site clubs to use for timing at the national events. Tat is, with the exception of the Men’s and Women’s Nationals, where the larger Daktronics clocks are used because the event is held in an arena, and be- cause they’re easier to see from greater distances. Te laptops are to be used strictly for timing purposes and will run the World Curling Federation's CurlTime program. We’re very grateful to Joe Roberts for the CurlClock program that was so helpful to us during past years. Te move to the WCF’s CurlTime program is part of USA Curling’s of-

ficiating course program advancements. “Te organization has redesigned the officiating training program to provide a stronger foundation of knowl- edge for officials prior to gaining field experience. Such efforts will help to lay the foundation for more world-class U.S. officials, and ultimately, create a championship atmosphere that is closer to what our top athletes experi- ence at the world level,” said Kim Nawyn, UCCA's director of growth & development. Te new laptops and monitors will make running events easier for host

sites. Clubs will no longer have to ask their good-hearted members to sup- port club event hosting by supplying their own personal computers. Enjoy what’s leſt of the summer, and I hope to see your name among those who register to compete in USA Curling's championship events. n

he USWCA is happy to announce the locations of this season's regional junior bonspiels. Te bonspiels provide a wonderful op- portunity for interclub play among competitive and developmen-
