100% Design is the UK’s largest design show and this year unveils an exciting new direction. 2013’s visual concept and show theme – Creative Balance – gives the exhibition a visual identity and exploration of creative process. The main concept was conceived by specialist communications design agencies Thomas.Matthews and the accompanying marketing campaign was devised by branding and graphics agency Form. Creative Balance will underpin the show’s award winning layout, content and commissions. The show will again focus on four industry sectors: all arranged around a central hub, Interiors, Office, Kitchens and Bathrooms and Eco Design and Build. Each hub will showcase the work of thoughtleaders across the design community. The Central Bar is reached through a 66m long tunnel designed by creative and live events specialists Studio Design UK.

Interiors: The Interiors hub will explore the innovation of 3D printing as an accessible method of production. A global competition staged with creative collaboration agency Talenthouse, will see examples produced before and during the show within a specially designed interior. Sustainability, quality and empowerment of individual makers will be demonstrated and debated live.

Office: Created by architecture and design studio, TILT, the Hanging Room concept explores suspended elements that can be lowered individually to create an everchanging functionality. This practice is one of the leaders in codesign, an exciting new concept that integrates end users into the design process.

Kitchen and Bathroom: This hub will incorporate the shows restaurant serving seasonal food that can be grown at home. The space will explore design’s role in micro agriculture demonstrating the opportunities in local and individual food production. There will be a separate installation for bathrooms, presenting the latest trends and concepts.
