A Day In The Life……
Amy Morley, Director of Strategic Operations at Momentum Instore, walks us through a typical day in her shoes……….
As Director of Strategic Operations for a major provider of instore marketing solutions my role is incredibly varied. I am responsible for the delivery and development of Momentum Instore’s three operational divisions – installations, field marketing and merchandising. In our industry there is no such thing as a typical day, every day has a new challenge and as I love to be busy; it suits me perfectly. At 6am the alarm goes off. It’s going to be a particularly busy week as we have just won a new client, which requires lots of operational support, along with setting up a bespoke Estate Management System to ensure our reporting capabilities are in line within the clients objectives. My mind is racing with things that need to be done for the day and the week ahead, so I start the day with a quick run to order my thoughts.
I arrive at the office around 8am and
pour myself a large bowl of homemade muesli whilst scanning the diary and looking over the general workload for the week. Taking Monday as an example, my first meeting is one of the most important of the week ‐ the New Business and Marketing update meeting. It gives me the opportunity to see not just what new business we currently have in the pipeline but also what marketing campaigns are being progressed to highlight our services to current and potential clients. It’s also important to know what pitches we have coming up, so we can plan ahead. Winning a new project is hard enough in a tough economic climate but being able to deliver what you sell is equally important. We are currently in the process of implementing a campaign to promote our audit service. We understand that at the moment retailers and brands need to get the most they can out of their instore
