experimenting with its first virtual event, Smith said. “We’re trying to have at least a couple of programs for each type of library.” At the 2011 conference, TLA introduced a mobile app that was very popular, so for 2012, they’re looking to “try to do more and more with it,” Smith said. And at TLA 2012 they’ll be introducing a geocaching treasure hunt, with the idea that participants will return home and run geocaching programs at their libraries. “We love our conference,” Smith said. “As a

staff we spend all year working on it, and we love everything about it. The library commu- nity is amazingly enthusiastic and loves it, too. Our goal every year is to have a better and better experience.” n
