If you’ve attended a PCMA live event in the past few years, chances are you’ve seen coverage of it on PCMA-TV —whether in your hotel room or on digital signage around the venue. Now, Spanish-speaking attendees will be able to enjoy coverage in their native tongue, as PCMA has announced that it will partner with Convention News Tele- vision (CNTV) to create PCMA-TV en Español. “PCMA-TV en Español is part of a larger strategy to provide products that meet the needs of our constituents in Latin, Central, and South America and Europe,” said PCMA COO Sherrif Kara- mat. “It’s a demand-growth area for us, and it’s truly com- municating in the most effective way.” PCMA-TV en Español will debut next month in San Diego at Convening Leaders 2012; for a preview featuring Spanish-speaking tal- ent, visit http://bit.ly/PCMA-TV-en-Espanol.

YOU GOTTA GIVE TO GET BACK
Next month at Convening Leaders 2012 in San Diego, attendees will have a number of opportunities to give back to the community—as well as PCMA’s Network for the Needy and the PCMA Education Foundation—by participating in Hospitality Helping Hands (HHH) and Party With a Purpose (PWAP). On Sunday, Jan. 8, two HHH projects are being offered, at San Diego’s Com- munity Coaching Center and at the Family Health Cen- ters of San Diego. Registration is $75 —and it all goes to those two charities. PCMA also is run-
ning a socks donation drive at Convening Leaders, with the goal of collecting 5,000 pairs of new socks for several local charities, including one serving homeless children. For more information, visitwww.ConveningLeaders.org /social-responsibility.
AND THE BAMIE GOES TO...
On Oct. 25, 165 members of PCMA’s Northern California chapter gathered at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco for the chapter’s second annual Bay Area Meeting Industry Excellence Awards, aka the BAMIES. The celebration (pictured) included a cocktail reception, a silent auction, and a banquet dinner. A portion of the proceeds from the event were donated to the American Red Cross Japan Relief Fund. Awards were given out in five categories: the Hero Award, for a super-volunteer PCMA member; the CARE Award, for an individual who has made a significant contribution to his or her community; the Rising Star Award; the Legend Award; and the Environmentality Award.
