components all with different part numbers in our system. We maintain customer part numbers as well. All of our components are inventoried in a vertical carousel system. We currently have eight bays of RotoMats that control inventory throughout our network as a part of our total inventory solution, enabling quick changeover and ensuring that the right stock is available at all times. We are doing more in PoP and seeing bigger board size requirements for the LED industry. Kyzen and Aqueous Technologies have become key vendors for cleaning our high-reliability and medical applications that require stringent parameters for cleaning.

Q Q 26

What differentiates Libra from its competitors? Specifically, we deliver higher technology and reliability board-level and box-build systems. We have a new NPI center and an entire facility devoted to box-build. We offer design to completion. Also, we offer complete testing services for all of our customers, and our entire staff is IPC trained and certified. Our design and prototype services staff has been trained to work closely with a customer’s engineering team to provide timely feedback regarding manufacturability, testability and recommended changes that can enhance the design, reduce manufacturing costs and improve product quality. As a result, transitioning new products to full production will happen more quickly at Libra Industries because the customer can work directly with our manufacturing team to ensure that the materials, knowledge and documentation developed during the NPI process are seamlessly transferred to manufacturing.

Where do you think 2012 will take you? Thank you for your time, Rod. Best wishes for a successful 2012. EIU

2011 was a record year for Libra Industries. Over time, we have seen numerous trends in this industry including an exodus from the United States to low-cost regions such as Southeast Asia and China. Currently, we are seeing a strong migration back to the United States because many products that were sent to Asia never belonged there in the first place. Much of the military and medical business is now very U.S. centric. We are emphasizing supply chain management because we have found that 60 percent of a product’s manufacturing sell price is based on raw material costs. Having the right part in the right place at the right time and at the right cost is a painfully difficult process to attain for most EMS companies. If you do not have proper supply chain management, you certainly cannot be profitable. Libra Industries really is a materials management company that just happens to assemble products.
