Anthea Zervos lives in Monrovia, Li - beria, and works with the American Bar Association to ameliorate pretrial deten- tion in Monrovia’s prisons. She holds a master’s degree in conflict, violence, and development from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.

Sara Mallett married Josh Folger last August. As a middle-school math teacher at a private girls’ school in NYC, she says she uses her ability to balance personali- ties and approach situations creatively, skills she learned at Skidmore. “I love to tell people how perfectly my undergradu- ate degree in theater prepared me for teaching math.” She and Josh live in Brook lyn.

Susan Levin completed her doc- toral degree in clinical psychology and works in the counseling center at the University of Wisconsin, in the “progres- sive and scenic” city of Madison. Ceramicist Allison Petroski and her brother, painter Brian Petroski ’99, were featured in an article titled “Sibling Artis - try” in Saratoga Style magazine. Allison, who draws inspiration from Eastern cul- tures and philosophies, crafts pottery using mehni designs, the intricate pat- terns used in henna decorations painted on brides and members of wedding cere- monies, an art that originated in ancient India. Will Schmerge has returned to Africa to work for Give Us Wings, a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to eradi- cating poverty in the most remote and poorest villages. He is working with local groups to build clinics and teach school in Kenya and Uganda. Communications major Cara Benson, UWW ’04, has two books of poems com- ing out this year, (made) by BookThug Press and Protean Parade by Black Radish Books. She is the editor of last year’s an - thology Predictions, called “an interdisci - plinary engagement with future studies through visual art, social science, science fiction, and poetic response.” Cara also had an installation of text and art titled Real Estate at the Arts Center of the Capi - tal Region in Albany, NY, to accompany a performance based on (made). She will be on a book tour for (made) this spring and summer, in Denver, San Francisco, Bos - ton, Maine, Toronto, and NYC. All of her work is available through Small Press Dis - tribu tion (spdbooks.org). Cara teaches a poetry course at Mt. McGregor prison through Siena College, is program manag- er for the Millay Colony for the Arts, where she edits an art journal, and is developing an MFA program in creative writing and outreach.
