Springs, quite a bit. They refer to Lori’s house as “the sanctuary.” She also stays in touch with Sandy Ferguson-Farrell of Cheshire, CT, Enid LeWinter Davis of Mont ville, NJ, Wendy Simpson of Am - herst, MA, Loraine Simpson Houston of Chester Springs, PA, Laura Anderson of
Hadley, MA, Peggy Bresnick Kendler ’80
of Monroe, CT, and Jackie Saltzman Kon ’81. She finds Facebook to be a wonderful social tool.
Migs Schuchart Wright says she had fun at Reunion, “even though some of us were a little bit out of hand for one reason or another.” She is having a torrid affair with NYC and cannot seem to get enough. She lives in Manhattan with husband Bing and two sons.
Marily Monteith Berrie is in her 20th year of teaching vocal music to middle school students. She is also active in the American Choral Directors’ Association, serving on its New Jersey board as the repertoire and standards chair for middle and junior high choirs. She has managed 10 state and two Eastern-division junior- high honor choirs, and the 2009 national choir in Oklahoma City, OK. She is man- aging a “Men in the Middle” workshop for seventh- and eighth-grade boys during the 2010 Eastern Division ACDA confer- ence in Philadelphia. In addition, Marily and husband Ray have been planning weddings: eldest daughter Kira, a social worker, was married in NYC during Re - union last year, and mid dle daughter Chelsea, an eighth-grade science teacher in Mary land, will be married in August. Happily, the youngest, Devyn, is still at home, at tending community college, and taking her time to grow up! Sadie Izard Pariseau was sorry to miss Reunion. Son Hank, a Wake Forest grad, is in Arlington, VA, after working in Buenos Aires for two years; Nat, slated to graduate from Vanderbilt, has accepted an invest- ment banking job with Raymond James; Dan is in his second year at the Univer sity of Virginia studying engineering; and Emily, a 10th-grader, is not particularly happy being an only child. The family chartered a catamaran in the Abacos, a Ba hamas island chain, over Thanksgiving. Sadie is happy that the kids still want to join them on vacations. She keeps the books for Rob’s business, volunteers around town, works out, and plays tennis. Since her dad passed away last summer, she is spending lot of time in Atlanta with her mom. Sadie stays in touch with Sarah Banwell Deadrick of Dover, MA, Pearl

s on Relle of Potomac, MD, and several alumni in Tampa. Karen Schwarz and I were neighbors in Moore Hall freshman year (though I’m not sure she ever took to my loud music). She lives in Alexandria, VA, with husband Jeffrey Peisch and their kids Jack, 16, and Barbara, 12. A freelance writer, Karen has read her essays on WAMU 88.5 and NPR’s This I Believe. She also helps high school seniors write their college admissions es - says and volunteers at a local public high school, T.C. Williams (the school featured in the movie Remember the Titans). Sarah Deadrick lives in Dover, MA, with husband Spencer and two of their three sons—a high school senior and a ninth- grader. Their eldest is a college sopho- more. Sarah keeps in touch with Janet

ton. Sarah says running into Skidmore grads in the Boston area is fun but tests her memory! Marcia Valone Kuhn, one of my old apartment mates senior year, recently bought and began renovating a house in Winchester, MA, making for a crazy holi- day season. Her son, a high school junior, is starting the college search, and her daughter is in fifth grade. Now that every- one is settled in, Marcia is going to tackle the job market.
Our new class president, Jen Charles -
worth Thomas, completed her first se - mester of an associate’s degree in nursing at the University of New England. A floral designer by day and student by night, Jen is considering selling her flower shop but is finding it hard to let go after 19 years. Son Jonathan is in his second year at Johnson & Wales University in Miami, studying sports and hospitality manage- ment. Thanks to Facebook, Jen is in con- tact with too many classmates to mention. My former roommate Maura Connelly is a photographer in Beaufort, SC. She recently graduated from a master natural- ist course. Husband Rob is slowly return- ing to work as an orthopedic surgeon after a lengthy illness. Their oldest son, Thor, graduated from Roanoke College in Vir ginia last year and works in Charles - ton. Maren, 20, is a junior at Colorado College, and Callie, 16, is a junior at Beau - fort Acad emy. The family includes two dogs, a cat, and a bird. Martha VanGelder (my partner in crime from the old days…OK, even now) is en - joying her third winter in Boulder, CO. She heads the international division of
Gaiam, a fitness and wellness media and accessories company. Husband John is a producer and writer for reality TV in Den - ver and Los Angeles. Although moving every four years has its drawbacks, Martha says the stunning views, great outdoors, a true foodie culture, and selling yoga for a living “make this stopover a winning com- bination,” and she might just stay awhile. She also has a vacation home in Tucson, AZ, which is where I like to visit her! Cindy Newman Kebba is a city planner in Rockville, MD. Son Stephen attends the University of Florida, and Cindy has been doing the college-search thing with her daughter Alison, a high school senior. Lisa Ochs Arnold loved Reunion and says each time she goes back she’s re - minded that our personalities and ability to laugh at ourselves remain unchanged. She is almost an empty-nester, working on boarding school for her son. Husband Rome is semi-retired. They have been working to get Bill Binnie (her best friend from high school) elected as US senator from New Hampshire. Lisa missed seeing Linda Winnard Gleason at Reunion and suggests we return this year to see the class that graduated after us. Lisa encour- ages classmates to visit the Skidmore Class of 1979 group on Facebook for news and photos.
Linda Winnard Gleason was sad to miss Reunion. She is a certified Sunday School teacher and absolutely loves it. Oldest daughter MacKenzie, 14, was the first- place junior-varsity champion for the Debate Club of Chicago Public Schools. Kyra, 12, loves to read, writes poetry, sings beautifully, and has a great sense of art; she also plays travel soccer, field hockey, and basketball. Husband Ron is program director for CBS Radio’s all-news station in Chicago. Linda met up with Martha Van - Gelder in Boulder, CO, last January and Dawn Dilimetin Papalian in Ann Arbor, MI, several months ago. Abbie Swift Kennedy checked in from Rochester, NY. Daughter Mallory is pursu- ing an MBA at Clark University in Worces - ter, MA, in between snowboarding and going to Phish and DMB concerts; daugh- ter Emma attends SUNY-Fredonia and loves it. Abbie is enjoying her empty nest by keeping busy with her book club and updating all her friends on Facebook. I live in Cambridge, MA, and commute to Boston. I work in finance with a lot of start-up companies, so it’s always interest- ing. I am also studying Italian, with the goal of spending more time in Italy some- day. I recently participated in Skidmore’s MB 107 course, as one of the executives
