AERODEF 2017 PREVIEW
CLASSIFIEDS PRODUCTS/SERVICES
Key features of the X Line 2000R include the XXL Build Envelope, featuring a build volume of 160 liters and two 1000-W lasers on this production machine. Two build modules can be used reciprocally, meaning one build can be unpacked while the other build is underway. This allows for constant production with minimal down- times. System has intuitive safety measures designed into the machine; separa- tion of the process and handling station ensures safe operation of the machine with reactive materials, protecting the user from hazards and protecting the metal powder from oxidation. Projection Thermography for Composite Inspection ProjectIR is a projection thermography system for nondestructive inspection (NDI) and quality assurance of large-scale composite structures. The system received the 2016 DOD Maintenance Innovation Challenge Award for its ability to perform a complete inspection from a remote console positioned 10–15' (3–4.5 m) from the aircraft. Faster than any current NDI technology, Pro- jectIR outperforms A-scan ultrasound in sen- sitivity and resolution for detection of foreign object debris, impact damage, adhesive dis- banding, and moisture ingress in composite structures. Detection sensitivity is enhanced by TWI’s Thermographic Signal Reconstruc- tion (TSR) processing. ProjectIR is the newest
entry in TWI’s spectrum of products that address the full range of NDI challenges from the handheld VoyageIR / VoyageIR Pro systems for maintenance to the TAFIS / T3S systems for automated quality assurance in turbine blade manufacture. Thermal Wave Imaging Inc. Ph: 248-414-3730 Web site:
