AERODEF 2017 PREVIEW
half is a fl exible rubber diaphragm under uniform hydrostatic pressure. This design approach generates signifi cant tool cost savings and eliminates several forming operations, intermedi- ate heat treatments, and operator dependencies. A full line of standard models are offered, with rectangular trays dimen- sions up to 1.8 x 3.6 m and pressures from 800 bar to 1400 bar. The cycle time is normally one to three minutes, depend- ing on press size, formed parts and selected pressure. Quintus Technologies Ph: 614-255-2732 Web site:

Inspection Software New Verisurf 2017 measurement software adds many new enhancements with advanced surface analysis, quality inspection, assembly guidance and reverse engineering. The Verisurf user interface has been entirely reorganized with updated icons and enhanced “tool tips” to streamline work- fl ows, make applications easier to learn, and maintain com- pliance with the latest Windows standards. Pro- grammers can create custom apps using any common programming language with
the rollout of the Verisurf SDK. “Power Surface” catapults existing Verisurf CAD modeling power to new heights with the ability to fi ll holes or fi t CAD surfaces through point clouds and meshes with fi ne-tuning control and fi delity previously nonexistent. Updated software also punctuates its ongo- ing commitment to improved scan data management with a spectrum of new tools for managing, displaying, editing, and enhancing scan and mesh data. Updated CAM Software
The new hyperMill 2017.1 will be shown. Updated software covers 2.5D- through fi ve-axis milling and drilling, mill-turn, and specialty applications. Each release provides enhance- ments and new product functions covering all product capa- bilities, ensuring that all users benefi t from the latest technol- ogy. Some highlights in update include enhancements to the patented Maxx Machining fi nishing module, allowing com-

bined semifi nish and fi nish passes, and also providing the user with more control over the contact point loca- tion on the conical barrel cutter. The key to the Maxx Machining fi nishing module is to utilize conical barrel cutters to allow very large step-overs, while using
short cutters to achieve optimal machining results on planar and large radius of curvature surfaces. A new adaptive pock- eting routine is provided as an extension to the Optimized Roughing cycle. With this option, hyperMill identifi es embed- ded circles or rectangles within general pocket shapes. Open Mind Technologies USA Inc. Ph: 888-516-1232 Web site:

3D Sensors
Company will showcase the newest member of its compact 3D sensor family for easy and fast measurements. The Zeiss Comet L3D 2 uses the latest sensor technology and project- oriented software for easy and reliable 3D data capture. The 3D data capture of components and objects is fast and precise, offering high performance for users with a greater scope to perform measuring tasks due to the fl exibil- ity of the system. The Zeiss colin3D high-performance software platform also ensures a consistently effi cient and goal-oriented
workfl ow during the entire measuring process. With a range of working distances from 45 to 500 mm, the Comet L3D 2 sensor ensures problem-free operation, even in cramped conditions. Solution has a fast warm-up mode, allowing the operator to concentrate fully on the measuring task. Zeiss Metrology Ph: 800-327-9735 Web site:
