Fostering Innovation Across the Extended Aerospace Enterprise
U
sually when something is said to have it all the statement is a long way from accurate. That’s not the case with AeroDef Manufacturing 2017. The leading event for the aerospace and de- fense manufacturing industry is being held March 6–9 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Fort Worth TX. The Confer- ence portion of the program is being conducted every day of
the event and includes tracks covering: t Additive Manufacturing / 3D Technologies t Automation & Assembly t Composites & Advanced Materials t Precision Machining & Tooling t Quality, Measurement & Inspection
Conference attendees also have daily access to the exhibits, keynotes, panels, networking activities, and group lunches and receive online access to conference proceed- ings at the event.
As for the exhibits, the show floor is open March 7 and 8 and features the leading technologies in aerospace and defense manufacturing. Among the processes, materials and
machines being exhibited are those dealing with: t Additive Manufacturing t Composites t Precision Machining t Automation & Assembly t Quality & Inspection t Simulation

A special feature on the exhibit floor is a 1/3-scale model of the Orion crew module that will be used to carry American astronauts into space. The model was created by 3D scan- ning the actual capsule and then using the data to print the model on a CI BAAM 3D printer. Another special attraction is the Aerofied Preferred Supplier Pavilion, which provides an enhanced networking experience that connects attendees, prequalified con- tract suppliers and decision-makers from aerospace and defense companies. In addition, AeroDef tours allow attendees to visit manu- facturing facilities and see how aerospace and defense companies use innovative technologies and processes. Tours will take place on March 6 and March 9. Companies to be visited include Concept Laser, Triumph Aerostructures and Lockheed Martin.
The 2017 event will also include the inaugural AeroDef Manufacturing Poster Challenge and Display, which show- cases the efforts of the next generation of manufacturing researchers, engineers and industry professionals. Posters will be on display just outside the exhibit floor March 7 and 8. AeroDef Manufacturing 2017 has all this and much more
to offer. For full details and to learn how to register, please visit
