Linda Howe (BA ‘76), founder and director of the Linda Howe Center for Akashic Studies, released her third book, Discover Your Soul’s Path through the Akashic Records: Taking Your Life from Ordinary to Extra Ordinary (Hay House).


Greg Belback (BS ‘77, MSIR ‘79) was promoted to chief people officer at JourneyCare in Bar- rington, Illinois.


Dimitri Sala, OFM (BA ‘77, Niles College) released his previously published book, The Stained Glass Curtain, in Spanish as La Cortina de Vitrales. The book discusses the foundation of the relationship between Catholics and Evangelical Protestants. The English and Spanish versions are available in print or electronically from the publisher, Creation House (Casa Creación).


Susan J. Schwartz (MSW ‘77) was honored with the Volunteer Extraordinaire Award by Almost Home Kids, an organization providing transitional care to children with health needs.


Julie Ann Sebastian (BS ’77, JD ’87), an assistant Cook County state’s attorney in the Civil Actions Bureau, will receive the 2015 Austin Fleming Newsletter Editor Award from the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA). She is being recognized for her 13 years as co-editor of a monthly newsletter.


1980s


Charles J. Hagopian Jr. (BBA ‘81) joined the office of Chicago city clerk Susana A. Mendoza as director of intergovernmental affairs.


Dominick W. Savaiano (JD ‘81) was added as a partner to Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dickler LLP in its intellectual property group. He has trained his group in litigation and courtroom techniques, handling complex and difficult mat- ters throughout the country.


Ellen Carbonell (MSW ‘82) is being honored as the 2015 Social Worker of the Year for the NASW Illinois Three Rivers District.


Dr. Anthony R. Gregg (BS ‘82, MD ‘86) was recently elected to the board of directors of the ACMG Foundation for Genetic and Genomic


Medicine, a national nonprofit foundation dedi- cated to facilitating the integration of genetics and genomics into medical practice.


Antoinette Napolez (BS ‘82), an advocate for domestic violence awareness and prevention, published a book, Run for Your Life from the Love of Your Life: A Woman’s Rescue and Recovery Guide.


The Hon. Elizabeth M. Rochford-Striedl (BA ’82, JD ’86) was appointed board of governor liaison to the Women and the Law, Bench and Bar Insurance Law Committees of the Illinois State Bar Association.


Renee Cipriano (JFRC Fall ‘83, BA ‘85, JD ‘88) was named Volunteer of the Year at Uhlich Children’s Advantage Network’s (UCAN) annual Donor Recognition Reception. The award honors UCAN supporters and ambassadors who have made an impact in their communities.


Catherine C. Conley (MRE ‘83) published a book, Coming Home: The Journey from Heaven to Your Adopted Home.


Earl E. Rubinoff (BBA ‘83), president of the Ru- binoff Group, LLC, qualified for the Guardian Life Insurance Company’s Leaders Club for the 30th consecutive year.


John Poynton (BA ‘84) won the 2014 USA Award for Research from the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) for his doctoral research, “Organizational Training and Relation- ship Building for Increasing Public Participation in a Public School District.” His work also received IAP2’s 2014 International Award for Research.


Robert B. Latousek Jr. (MA ‘85) of Centaur Systems received the Anthony J. Gradisnik Award at their fall conference in Appleton, Wisconsin. He was honored for his contributions and service over the past three decades to the classics profes- sion, WAFLT, and the American Classical League.


Neli Vazquez-Rowland (BBA ‘85) and her husband, Brian M. Rowland (BBA ‘89), received the Freedom Award from The John Marshall Law School Alumni Association for their work as cofounders of A Safe Haven Foundation.


Donald D. Campbell (BA ‘86) was named to the 2016 Best Lawyers in America© List.


Teresa F. Frisbie (JD ‘86), director of Loyola’s Dispute Resolution Program, was named one of Illinois’ Top 10 Women ADR Neutrals in the March 2015 issue of Leading Lawyers magazine (Women’s Edition). Frisbie is of counsel with DeGrand & Wolfe PC.


Mary J. Bird (JD ’87) received the Leonard Jay Schrager Award of Excellence at the Chicago Bar Association’s and Chicago Bar Foundation’s 17th annual pro bono and public service awards luncheon.


The Hon. Thomas J. Dart (JD ‘87) received the 2015 TASC Justice Leadership Award and was named Catholic Lawyer of the Year. TASC (Treat- ment Alternatives for Safe Communities) is a nonprofit that provides alternatives to incarcera- tion and facilitates access to health care.


Scott M. Seaman (JD ‘87) joined Hinshaw & Clubertson LLP as a partner. His practice focuses on all facets of complex insurance and reinsur- ance matters.


Paul A. Gilman (JD ‘89) was appointed by Aron- berg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa to be cochair of the firm’s Business Law & Transactions Group.

Douglas B. Swill (MA ‘90) was appointed to the board of directors of Center for Healthcare Innovation, a national independent nonprofit research and educational institute.


Patrick Coughlin (BA ’91) was sworn in as a Cook County judge on December 1, 2014.


Christopher Fee (MA ‘91) teaches a service- learning course on homelessness at Gettysburg College, which includes a substantial weekly service commitment in the local community.


Cynthia Granados Motley (BA ‘91) has joined the firm Sedgwick LLP as a partner in its Chicago office. Motley practices in the areas of cyber security and privacy, ERISA, multi-jurisdiction commercial litigation, and insurance.


The Hon. Michael C. Fountain (BA ‘91) was named the first Bahamas Honorary Consul to Chicago for the Midwestern United States by the US State Department. He is the second Bahamas Honorary Consul ever assigned to the United States and the first of three new Honorary Consuls for the Bahamas accredited in the US.


Lawrence A. Eiben (JFRC Spring ’93, JD ’97) joined Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm, as a transactional partner in its Real Estate Practice Group. He bolsters the firm’s core strength in the commercial real estate industry and broadens the real estate team’s experience in green and renew- able energy project development and financing.
