Students score big— on and off the field

LOYOLA’S FALL SPORTS teams kicked off the 2015-16 year with a bang. Both the women’s and men’s soccer teams had standout perfor- mances in the Missouri Valley tournament, with the women advancing to the finals and the men reaching the semifinals. Women’s volleyball had a great season as well, reaching the 20-win pla- teau for the first time since 2004 and qualifying for the MVC Championship for the first time. But the Ramblers’ success isn’t limited to game

time. The NCAA’s latest data shows Loyola has a Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 98, tying the Ramblers for third place nationally—behind only Dartmouth and Samford—with Columbia, Duke, Harvard, Holy Cross, Notre Dame, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale. Five Loyola students were also voted to academic All-MVC teams this fall. Student athletes are also committed to serv-

ing the community. Senior Tim Dobrowolski was one of 10 Missouri Valley fall-sport athletes to earn the MVC Good Neighbor Award for giving back to the community through his work with multiple organizations. Over the past three years, Dobrowolski has also joined his team- mates at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s (MSKCC) Cycle for Survival event, where the Ramblers have raised in excess of $10,000.

Ramblers gearing up for Arch Madness 2016

THE LOYOLA MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM will make their third run in Arch Madness, the Missouri Valley Championship tournament, March 4-6. Last year, the Ramblers took home the championship title at the College Basketball Invitational, their first post-season appearance in 30 years. This year, MVP of the CBI tournament Earl Peterson returns along with Milton Doyle, Ben Richardson, and other hopeful starters as the team prepares for another successful season. Whether you’re an alum or just a Rambler fan, don your maroon and gold scarf and head down

to St. Louis to cheer on the Ramblers to victory. All-session passes are on sale now in the Loyola seating block at LUC.edu/archmadness, or call 773.508.WOLF.

LOYOLA RANKS AMONG

TOP 100 COLLEGES

LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO came in at No. 99 in the latest U.S. News & World Report ranking of the top national universities, marking the first time Loyola has cracked the top 100. The rankings, which include 1,376 schools grouped into four categories, take into account a variety of factors ranging from student retention and graduation rates to peer assessments by fellow university administrators. Loyola is one of only four universities in Illinois to break into the Top 100 this year.
