Bonding Clay Imerys, Cincinnati, Ohio, showcased


its Ikobond, a newly developed clay with increased durability for high density molding. Studies have shown the clay has increased durability with respect to green compression strength and wet tensile strength. Tis durability and quicker molding property development allows metalcasters to optimize the consumption usage of bond per ton of metal poured.


Bentonites


American Colloid Company, Hoff- man Estates, Illinois, showed its line of products, notably bentonites. Bentonite's unique chemical structure gives it a diverse range of capabilities, enabling it to act as a thickener, sealant, binder, lubricant or absorption agent. Ameri- can Colloid also offers green sand bond materials, specialty chromite sand and metal fluxing agents.


Coldbox Core Machine EMI Inc., Cleveland, featured its


EMI CB.22.SR vertically parted cold- box core machine, which accepts most common existing coreboxes and 3D printed coreboxes. It has a 75-lb. core capacity and swing-out or swing-down ejection platens. It features a PLC with touch-screen interface.


3D Sand Printer Tinker Omega Manufacturing


LLC, Springfield, Ohio, introduced its 3DSP-111 sand printer that was purchased by the University of North- ern Iowa Metal Casting Center. Te new printer has a 1 cu. m print area and 0.25 cu. m/hour printing speed. Its integrated material handling includes an automated mixing system for recov- ered and new sand, a bulk sand storage system, and pneumatic sand transfer. It is compatible with powder additive.
