Situated in a former artisan bake-house, The Upper Crust is an intimate and comfortable restaurant nestled in its own walled patio accessed from a traditional pend that in the '30s would have resounded with the clip clop of the dray horses as they prepared to deliver freshly baked bread to the bakers shops in town


The old bakers ovens are still a feature in the restaurant, although our own home-made soda bread is baked in a more contemporary way. The restaurant menu is simple and seasonal reflecting the 'auld alliance' between Scotland and France and adopting the French brasserie-style where most dishes are written on a blackboard and changed daily allowing the kitchen to make good use of the fresh local produce and present seasonal dishes to accommodate the vagaries of the Scottish weather.
